MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A suspect is dead after a shooting involving Mesa police late Monday evening.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Mesa police officers received reports of a man who was threatening others in a neighborhood near Mesa Drive and McKellips Road. Investigators say the suspect had shown others a firearm in his waistband.
Officers attempted to contact the man once they arrived, but he refused to come outside and talk with them. At one point during the incident, officers spotted the armed man over the block wall in the backyard, holding the weapon. One officer fired at the man, striking him…
