A man accused of fatally stabbing a fellow resident 21 times inside an unlicensed Goodyear group home has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, closing the criminal case against him even as the scandal surrounding Arizona’s sober living industry grinds on. Glynn Peaches, 46, entered the plea in connection with the April 2025 killing of 24-year-old Reno Caddo Jr., and he now faces sentencing on November 9, 2026.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Peaches has been held in Maricopa County jail since his arrest in April 2025 and initially claimed the stabbing was self-defense. The two men had reportedly been drinking alcohol together before the attack, per the station’s reporting drawn from Goodyear police reports and a September 14 Maricopa County Superior Court hearing.
Caddo, a member of the White Mountain Apache Nation who grew up in Cibecue, Arizona, and graduated from Dìsh Chìì Bikòh High School in 2018, was living in the Goodyear home while receiving treatment through a Phoenix behavioral health clinic, according to the station’s report. That clinic arrangement, and the state Medicaid system that funded it, sit at the center of why this single killing became emblematic of a much larger crisis.

Goodyear Police responded to an 11 p.m. call on April 12, 2025, after a facility worker reported hearing someone say “I killed him” and beat on a body, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. Officers arrived to find Peaches standing in front of red-colored water in an upstairs bathroom, the same report states.
