‘Armed, wanted suspect’ captured after manhunt in the East Valley, per MCSO

A manhunt for an “armed, wanted suspect” in the East Valley is over.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office announced the suspect had been captured just after 2:30 Thursday afternoon.

MCSO says all lockdowns have been lifted and there is no remaining threat to the community.

Authorities say this all started around 6 a.m. when patrol deputies were called to the area of Crismon Road and Apache Trail for an armed robbery of a business. MCSO says a male and female suspect arrived at the business on a golf cart and were armed with an “AR” style rife and broke into an occupied business.

The male suspect fired multiple rounds into the business before taking off, authorities said.

Deputies later located the abandoned golf cart near 105th Place and University Drive.

While investigating the two scenes, deputies received another call at Crismon Road and University Drive for an unknown trouble. Soon after, it was confirmed to be the same male suspect from earlier, attempting a home invasion and firing multiple rounds at the residence.
