Man found dead from gunshot wound inside Phoenix home

A man was found dead after a being shot and killed inside a south Phoenix home early Thursday morning.

Around 7:00 a.m., fire crews responded to a home near 8th Street and Desert Drive South for reports of a man believed to be deceased.

When officials arrived, they found Jesus Larson, 51, inside the home and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Phoenix police were contacted after fire crews discovered Larson had suffered from “obvious signs of trauma,” and was found with at least one gunshot wound, officials said.

Homicide detectives revealed that the shooting took place around 2:00 a.m. earlier that day. Officials continue to investigate the incident. No suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information is asked to call Phoenix police or Silent Witness to provide an anonymous tip.
