Dozens arrested in Phoenix during Operation Desert Guardian crackdown

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Dozens of people were arrested Thursday night during a criminal task force operation in central Phoenix.

State Troopers arrested 35 people for outstanding warrants, DUIs, drugs and weapons offenses in the Valley as a part of Operation Desert Guardian, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Officials did not say how many arrests fell into each category.

Gov. Katie Hobbs signed an executive order establishing the operation in February 2025. The initiative is aimed at cracking down on criminal cartels operating along Arizona’s 370-mile border with Mexico…
