Chandler school district holds 1st safety committee meeting following student’s death

The Chandler Unified School District’s new Safety and Security Advisory Committee met for the first time on April 21.

The committee was formed after Chandler High School student Jayben Camacho was hit by a car while crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk near campus. He was taken to the hospital and later died. According to his family’s GoFundMe page, the 16-year-old’s organ donation helped save several lives.
