PHOENIX (AZFamily) — This week’s warm-up continues with a Valley high of 90 degrees, which is 3 degrees warmer than Tuesday. It’s also near-normal for this time of year, as the average high for Phoenix for today’s date is 89 degrees.
An area of low pressure is poised to move through northern Mexico over the next few days, pumping moisture into Arizona. For today, this means increasing cloud cover over our state. Tomorrow, rain chances are in the forecast, mainly for southeastern Arizona. Since the storm system is fairly weak and staying mostly to the south, rain chances statewide have trended down.
Look for a less than 10% chance of Valley rain on Thursday, a 20% chance for light showers in high country spots like Flagstaff and only a slightly higher chance for rain in southeastern Arizona. More likely, most portions of the state just continue to see cloud cover for Thursday…
