An early-morning trip to a north Phoenix QuikTrip turned violent Sunday when a fight in the parking lot erupted into gunfire, injuring a juvenile and four other people, according to police.
Officers were called shortly before 5 a.m. to the QuikTrip near North 29th Avenue and Bell Road for reports of a fight that escalated to shots fired. First responders found two people with gunshot wounds and three others with minor injuries. Phoenix Fire crews transported the two victims, including a juvenile female, to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Phoenix police say the shooting appears to have happened in the convenience-store parking lot and that several people have been detained as detectives canvass the scene and collect evidence, according to Arizona’s Family. The department shut the area down for several hours while investigators interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage.
Victims and response
As reported by ABC15 Arizona, officers located a man and a girl who had each been shot at least once. Both were rushed to the hospital and are expected to be OK. Three adults with minor injuries were treated at the scene and were not taken to the hospital.
