TONTO NATIONAL FOREST, AZ (AZFamily) — An 18-year-old man drowned Friday afternoon at Canyon Lake while trying to swim across a cove, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Just before 1 p.m., authorities responded to a report of a possible drowning near the Boulder Picnic recreation area at the lake northeast of Apache Junction.
Investigators said Jaysyn Robles was attempting to swim across a cove when he began to struggle in the water. People nearby tried to rescue him, but they were unable to reach him in time, MCSO said…
