Lawsuit filed after MCSO patrol boat crashes into jet ski at Bartlett Lake

PHOENIX — An 18-year-old jet skier injured after a collision with a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office patrol boat at Bartlett Lake has filed a lawsuit seeking $4 million in damages.

The crash happened last Memorial Day weekend at Bartlett Lake and left Josh Nieto Cruz with serious lacerations to his arm and leg.

According to an incident report from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Cruz was operating a jet ski too fast through a no-wake zone when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to contact him to issue a warning…
