Firefighters knocked down a junkyard fire at an auto shop in west Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon that resulted in a plume of smoke visible for miles.
The fire was reported at 1:44 p.m. near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
More than a dozen units were sent to the scene, including multiple engines, ladder trucks, rescue units and hazardous materials teams.
