A family’s Christmas vacation plans unraveled at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after an argument over a $99 carry-on bag fee escalated into a confrontation at the gate, removal from a Spirit Airlines flight, and the arrest of one passenger.
The incident, featured by the bodycam channel NYDETECTIVE, happened on Dec. 30, 2025, when deputies responded to reports of disorderly passengers at an airport gate.
