DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police say an investigation into a luxury SUV spotted in Florida uncovered what investigators believe was a vehicle title fraud scheme involving an elderly Lackawanna County resident.
According to a public information release from the Pennsylvania State Police Auto Theft Task Force, an investigator observed a 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti parked in Miami Beach, Florida, while off duty in April. The vehicle displayed a Pennsylvania registration and drew attention due to the investigator’s experience with vehicle title-washing and identity theft schemes.
