Heat Advisory in effect for Key Biscayne’s Fourth of July

The 67th annual Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade will go on as scheduled, but the biggest challenge for participants and spectators will be the heat. Expect partly cloudy skies with the possibility of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. The high will reach 88 degrees, and the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses.

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Heat Advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents and visitors attending the parade and other Independence Day festivities are encouraged to stay hydrated, seek shade when possible and take frequent breaks. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain: 40%.
