Walking through what remains of Temple Beth Tov, there are packed boxes filled with old prayer books, bare walls that once held religious plaques and a small flag with the Star of David on the floor.
The unassuming white and blue building on 8th Street was once a beloved synagogue in West Miami. Late last year, the temple began the formal legal process of dissolving as a religious institution. As its congregation mourns and searches for solace in its community — scrolls, memorial plaques and Torahs are in a period of transition.
