Nightclub Ride Turns Bloody As Teen’s Gunshot Hits Miami Driver

Miami-Dade detectives say a late-night drive home from a nightclub ended in chaos after a handgun went off inside a moving car, wounding the driver and landing a teenager in handcuffs. The shooting, which happened on April 12, sent a man to Jackson Memorial’s Ryder Trauma Center with a leg injury. Police identified the 19-year-old suspect as Raymond Arturo Bolanos Jr. and say he was arrested on April 28 at Miami Senior High.

What investigators say

According to an arrest affidavit cited by WSVN, Bolanos is accused of taking a handgun from a different vehicle, hiding it in his pocket and then getting into the victim’s car without telling anyone he was armed. While the victim drove, the affidavit states, Bolanos pulled out the gun and started handling it until it fired, hitting the driver in the right leg. Detectives said witness accounts matched the victim’s version of events, and they added that Bolanos later acknowledged handling the firearm before it went off.
