Milwaukee Fire Department continues to face uphill battle to keep aging frontline fleet on the road

MILWAUKEE — In the fall of 2025, the Milwaukee Fire Department began sounding the alarm about the age its fleet of fire trucks

Now, with an approval of $10 million in the department’s 2026 budget, it will add three ladder trucks and three fire engines. Until then, the department is working to stay on top of the current lineup of trucks.
