I finally went to Buc-ee’s… and I’ll admit it: I now understand the obsession.
I always thought that people were being dramatic when they talk about how they love Buc-ee’s so much. “It’s just a gas station,” I kept telling myself.
Then, on my way down to Florida, I stopped at Buc-ee’s and it changed my entire perspective.
If you’re planning a road trip before Wisconsin gets its first Buc-ee’s, or you’re already counting down the days until the Oak Creek location opens, here are the things that are absolutely worth grabbing, according to a first- timer!
BEAVER NUGGETS
These are so delicious! My sister really wanted them, so I had to grab a bag for her. They’re caramel-coated, crunchy corn puffs that disappear faster than a family-size bag of chips. Once you start eating them, you can’t stop.
BRISKET EVERYTHING
I went during breakfast the first time, and on my way back to Rockford stopped during lunch. When employees yell, “FRESH BRISKETS ON BOARD!” it means you better grab one before it’s gone. Everyone’s standing around waiting like a hawk. I had the brisket sandwich and burrito, and lemme tell you: YUM. YUM. YUM.
BUC-EE’S MERCH
Actually, the t-shirts are an absolute must. I got my dad a Buc-ee’s tank top, my mom a t-shirt, and my sister a Buc-ee’s baby onesie for her baby shower! Can’t go wrong with those kinds of gifts.
BUC-EE’S JERKY
The wall of jerky is actually overwhelming because of all the options to choose from. My boyfriend chose a couple different flavors and we tore through them so fast!
MINI SOUVENIR BUCKETS
People love mini anything. I bought 15 mini Buc-ee’s buckets for friends and everyone has loved them so far! They were only .98 cents each, so it really didn’t break my bank at all.
Fresh fudge was also really hyped up online, but I didn’t get any. I will definitely get some next time because, apparently, it’s really good…
