MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – A deputy with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is getting special thanks after stopping a driver earlier Wednesday morning from continuing to drive the wrong way down the highway, and who was later arrested for OWI, first offense.
According to a release, on July 29 around 2:20 a.m., it was reported that a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes of US-45, allegedly already passing 22 vehicles and driving straight through an active construction zone, putting highway workers directly in harm’s way.

Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy M. Hobbs was the first on scene, with his K9 Creed aboard. Hobbs attempted a maneuver to intercept the vehicle, or to at least make the driver compelled to stop. He then made a split-second decision to position his squad car in the vehicle’s path.
The decision resulted in the wrong-way vehicle striking the squad car, which only caused minor damage to both vehicles. The wrong-way vehicle did not drive again after that…
