MEQUON, Wis. (WFRV) – A former emergency room physician in Wisconsin will now spend the next 27 months in jail after being sentenced for running a medical clinic from inside his home.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, the 69-year-old former emergency room physician unlawfully prescribed controlled substances between 2021 and 2025 from a medical clinic inside his home in Mequon via telehealth.

Rather than providing legitimate addiction treatment, the release states that the 69-year-old prescribed buprenorphine (meant to treat opioid addiction), benzodiazepines (meant to treat anxiety), and stimulants (meant to treat ADHD) in exchange for cash, without having the patients demonstrate a medical necessity for the medications.
Officials say he charges more money for higher doses and the number of doses and was aware that he was not providing patients with legitimate medical care and had even provided some dangerous prescribed substances to people who were then selling them on the street…
