Suspect arrested, two officers hurt after hours-long standoff in Waukesha

A suspect is in custody and two police officers were injured after reports of domestic violence led to an hours-long standoff between Waukesha Police and a barricaded suspect on Saturday.

Waukesha Police say they responded just before 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to the 300 block of S. Moreland Blvd.

A caller told police the suspect was “threatening to kill her and choked her,” according to a press release from police.

Police said no weapons were displayed during the incident, but the caller also told police that the suspect did have access to a firearm.

The caller escaped the home, followed by the suspect.

Police said the suspect reportedly tried to run the caller over with his car and unsuccessfully tried to get her into his vehicle.

Police said when officers arrived at the home, the suspect was back home and was trying to leave the scene in a vehicle.

Police told the suspect to surrender, but the suspect ran into the home and barricaded himself inside.

Members of the Waukesha Police Tactical Unit were among several other teams and law enforcement agencies who responded.
