Denny’s plans to close 150 restaurants by 2026. Which Wisconsin locations could be affected?

Denny’s , the national diner chain known for its breakfast fare and 24-hour menu, plans to close 150 restaurants by the end of 2025.

In an earnings call Tuesday, Denny’s executives announced plans to close 50 “lower-performing” locations by the end of 2024, USA TODAY reports. The remaining 100 locations are planned to close in 2025.

Denny’s executive vice president and chief global development officer Stephen Dunn said among the restaurants planned for closure are locations that are too old to remodel or are based in unprofitable locations.

Also, CNN reports that Denny’s plans to slim down its menu from 97 options to 46.

How many Denny’s restaurants are there?

As of September 2024, Denny’s operates 1,586 locations around the world, the company’s website says . The bulk of those locations ― over 1,350 of them ― are in the U.S. The company has an especially strong presence in California, Texas, Florida and Arizona.

As of Thursday, Denny’s hasn’t announced which 150 restaurants it plans to close.
