Milwaukee Public Schools has confirmed that Rufus King High School was evacuated Wednesday as a precaution after smoke was found in the building.
The smoke was originally thought to have been due to an issue in the kitchen area, but was later determined to be from a mechanical issue in the air handler in the school’s basement tunnel. No fire was found.
No students were in the building when the smoke occurred…
