MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The head of Milwaukee County’s human resources department resigns from her job months after one of the County’s largest contracts was accidentally allowed to lapse.
Margo Franklin submitted her resignation April 21 which comes more than two months after an employee under her watch, Tony Maze, was fired following the expiration of the County’s healthcare contract with UnitedHealthcare and Optum Rx.
“I have accepted the resignation of Milwaukee County Chief Human Resources Officer Margo Franklin, effective Friday, May 1, 2026,” said County Executive David Crowley in a statement. “During her time managing the Milwaukee County Department of Human Resources, Margo led several key initiatives that have produced meaningful reforms to our pension, compensation, and talent retention systems. I want to thank for her years of service to Milwaukee County employees, retirees, and residents.”…
