Multiple schools in Wisconsin could close this week

WISCONSIN — Schools across parts of Wisconsin could face delays, early dismissals or closures Monday as forecasters warn of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, hail, tornadoes and flooding rain.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, much of Wisconsin is under a slight risk for severe weather Monday as a powerful storm system moves across the Midwest.

The Storm Prediction Center specifically listed Milwaukee among the larger population centers included in the slight risk area.

Forecasters said numerous severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Monday along a cold front extending from the Great Lakes into the Plains.
