Man accused of killing his father at Minneapolis home on Memorial Day

A man has been charged with fatally shooting his father at the home they shared in Minneapolis, with a criminal complaint saying the pair would often drink together and “get into wrestling matches.”

Daniel Everett Krueger, 41, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of his father, Daniel Carl Krueger, 64, at their home on the 4000 block of Snelling Avenue South on Memorial Day.

The younger Krueger called 911, “screaming that his father … was bleeding very bad,” per the complaint. He told the dispatcher he had a gun out, pointed it, and shot “not knowing it was hot.”

His father had been shot in the head, and though he was still breathing when responders arrived, his injury was not survivable and he died on Thursday…
