Minnesota’s Medical Assistance program came under federal scrutiny after officials raised concerns about weak oversight and potential fraud. The state reviewed 5,583 providers of high-risk Medicaid services by the May 31, 2026, deadline.
That review was part of a corrective action plan aimed at rebuilding trust between Minnesota and federal Medicaid officials. For providers, the clock was tight. For patients, the bigger question was whether care would stay steady.
