GOP Rep. Elliott Engen pleads not guilty to charges after DWI arrest

MINNESOTA, USA — GOP State Rep. Elliott Engen pleaded not guilty to charges following a DWI arrest in White Bear Lake earlier this year.

According to White Bear Lake Police Chief Dale Hager, Engen was pulled over during a traffic stop near 4th Street and Otter Lake Road just before 2 a.m. on March 27 “for observed traffic violations, including speeding, expired registration and an inoperable headlight.”

In a police report, officers said that Engen’s eyes were “watery, glassy, and bloodshot.” Authorities said that Engen claimed he was “sober cabbing” for two passengers, including fellow State Rep. Walter Hudson…
