An Edina man is facing a felony charge for threatening an employee at a local car dealership with a gun, reportedly telling them he “was the wrong guy to mess with.”
Bloomington police officers were called on June 30 to the Walser Toyota dealership located on American Boulevard after Peter John Bernhagen, 61, had reportedly made threatening comments to an employee, and said he had a 9mm handgun in his truck.
In an interview with investigators, the employee told police that Bernhagen came into the dealership that morning to fix an antenna on his truck, quickly becoming irate with the staff as he allegedly yelled and hit his hands on the counter.
Criminal charges claim that the dealership tried to de-escalate the situation, but Bernhagen continued to make comments like “I have nothing to lose” and “You don’t know who you’re dealing or messing with.”…
