CHASKA, Min. (WFRV) – You’ve seen police departments with K9 units and therapy dogs—some even have therapy miniature horses—but have you even seen a therapy…llama?
The Chaska Police Department in Minnesota is taking a unique approach to their animal cavalry by implementing a llama to support their mental health response efforts and to build positive community relations.
The therapy llama’s name is Otto, and he was issued his very own police uniform to increase his professionalism.
“Nobody has ever stayed angry while making direct eye contact with a llama,” Chaska Police said.
