A popular and long-serving south Minneapolispizza restaurant has issued an appeal for financial aid to keep its staff paid while it recovers from a damaging fire.
Jakeeno’s Pizza & Pasta has been closed in the month since a fire broke out in the roof of the building, causing smoke to pour throughout the building’s dining room, kitchen, and bar, with firefighters having to open several holes in the ceiling to extinguish the blaze.
The restaurant, opened in 1975 by Jack and Carol Keegan and now run by their daughters Patty and Amy Keegan, is currently waiting on insurers to evaluate the damage and approve payments for repairs, but in the meantime Jakeeno’s owners and staff are out of work and unpaid…
