A familiar voice on Twin Cities airwaves is hanging up the microphone after five decades in journalism and broadcasting.
WCCO Radio’s Al Schoch delivered his final newscast on Tuesday morning after more than a decade at the legacy station and more than 30 years in the Twin Cities, working in radio, television, wire service, and digital media.
In an interview with Bring Me The News, Schoch says his love of journalism began when he started writing for his high school newspaper in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
After graduating from Bloomsburg University, his career took him across the country, including stops in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and eventually Minnesota, where he found his final home at WCCO Radio…
