Late Labor Day Pushed Minnesota State Fair Back This Year, But Favorable Weather Kept Things Running Smooth

FALCON HEIGHTS (WJON News) — The Great Minnesota Get-Together comes to a close on Monday. The Minnesota State Fair got off to a later start in 2026 because of the late Labor Day.

State Fair Spokesperson Maria Hayden says the late start was a little tough for everyone with scheduling, but overall things went well, and the weather was good:

“We had a little bit of rain a couple of the days this year, but really nothing major, which is always nice when we’re able to have pretty clear skies. It was a little bit on the warmer side for a fair, but nothing too extreme, which is always good.”…
