The Metro Transit Green Line extension will begin hauling passengers on June 12, 2027.
The Metropolitan Council made the announcement on Saturday at what will be a Louisiana Avenue stop in St. Louis Park.
The extension, also known as the Southwest light rail project, will run through 16 stations from Target Field in downtown Minneapolis through Eden Prairie, with stops that include Beltline Boulevard in St. Louis Park, downtown Hopkins, and Minnetonka.
It will make it possible to travel in a single seat from Eden Prairie into downtown St. Paul, with connections to the Blue Line, the Northstar Commuter Rail line, and many bus routes…
