The Twin Cities Arab Film Festival returned this past week from Sept. 23 to 27, bringing with it fifteen screenings and countless critical dialogues.
Hosted by Mizna, an organization that promotes modern Arab art, the festival took place at the Main Cinema and the Walker Art Center. This year, the theme was “Looking Forward, Looking Back,” acknowledging the film festival’s history while painting a picture of a future where Arab voices thrive in a creative community.
This year’s festival was particularly special, celebrating its 20th return in the Twin Cities, having started as a non-annual festival in 2003…
