Greg Bovino, a high-level Customs and Border Protection official who recently led some of the most intense immigration stings in the country, is officially hanging it up. After nearly 30 years with the agency, Bovino announced he’ll be retiring at the end of March. The move comes right on the heels of “Operation Metro Surge,” a Minneapolis-based mission that ended in a media firestorm and political chaos.
