Post Modern Times Cafe, the Minneapolis restaurant formerly known as Modern Times Cafe, shared an update on its new model this week.
In January, responding the ICE surge in Minnesota, it switched to a donation-based model, offering free meals to community members who need assistance. Initially, owner Dylan Alverson had said that the model would remain “until the occupation of Minneapolis is over.”
The 15-year-old business converted to a nonprofit and, in March, announced that it would maintain the new model going forward.
“Yes, we are still free,” Alverson says in the restaurant’s update, shared to Instagram. “We will continue being this way, and things are going good. We’ve had ups and downs. Mostly ups, honestly.”…
