Gas thieves are drilling into vehicle tanks in the metro, leaving some Minnesota drivers with repair bills far higher than the value of the fuel stolen.
AAA said Minnesota gas prices are approaching $4.20 a gallon on average. In the metro, mechanics said thieves are targeting lifted trucks because they are easier to get under and drill into the tank.
