Baldwin mother arrested after death of 17-month-old son

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) – A 22-year-old mother has been arrested after investigators said she caused the death of her 17-month-old son by giving him a liquid mixture through his feeding tube.

Kaitlynn Dominick was arrested by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office following a more than two-week investigation into the child’s death. The boy died May 5 at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, one day after Dominick brought him in.

Investigators said the child had a medical condition that required him to be nourished through a feeding tube. The medical team at the hospital made a mandatory report to the Department of Human Resources after the child’s death.
