MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The City Council on Tuesday unanimously voted down an application for an Airbnb in the Oakdale neighborhood.
Council members said they had no choice, based on how the city’s ordinance reads. It sparked a wider discussion, with some council members arguing the rules are too restrictive and others maintaining that the city is not enforcing them.
“The law is preventing us to pass that today,” council President C.J. Small said after the meeting. “So in the future, we’re looking to revise the law, (so) we can make sure that the good actors can participate in the Airbnbs.”…
