Mobile restaurant packs relief boxes for Venezuela, needs more volunteers

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Inside The Tigers Bar and Grill on Hillcrest Road, volunteers have transformed the restaurant’s dining room into a relief center, filling hundreds of boxes with medicine, non-perishable food, hygiene items, baby supplies and clothing for families affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

The effort is led by restaurant owner Ann Reyes and her family, who say helping their homeland was something they couldn’t wait to do.

Reyes and her son, Oliver Matos-Reyes, own the area’s first Venezuelan restaurant. While their immediate family was not in the hardest-hit region, they say the disaster has deeply affected them as they watch their country recover…
