Geothermal equipment manufacturer coming to Loxley, $75 million investment

LOXLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The United States first geothermal components manufacturing plant is coming to Loxley.

“It is a big deal,” said President of the Baldwin Alliance Lee Lawson. “A tremendous project, huge investment, and then the payroll of these jobs, tremendously way above the county average.”

A $75 million investment by Terravanta Power Systems to build equipment to harness heat from geothermal wells that will then be converted into electricity.

“Here is a geothermal well, and this is the part we will be manufacturing, topside equipment,” said Keith Schumacher, CEO of Terravanta Power Systems.

A 12-acre plot of land in the expanding Loxley Industrial Park will soon be home to a 200 thousand square foot manufacturing plant that is expected to be fully operational in 2029…
