MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man is in jail after he allegedly smashed windows at several businesses and took a swing at a police officer, according to the Mobile Police Department.

According to an MPD news release, officers were called to the 3200 block of Dauphin Street Thursday, July 9, around 6:30 p.m. in reference to a man swinging a piece of metal rebar and using it to break windows of businesses.
When officers arrived, the man swung the rebar, hitting one of the officers. The officer was not seriously injured.
During the investigation, officers determined windows were damaged at a nail salon, Hair Depot, Scrubs by Zoghby’s and a Dollar General.
