MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Officers with the Mobile Police Department arrested a woman after she allegedly shot a man on Sept. 14.
An MPD news release said 21-year-old Ashanti Lamiya Smith of Whistler was arrested after a man was found with a gunshot wound Saturday night.
Officials said they were called to the 3000 block of Old Shell Road around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found the man and he was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Smith is charged with first-degree assault.
