Mobile Fire-Rescue responds to fire at recycling business

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department is responding to a fire at a recycling business.

Suspect in custody after Jackson County chase ends in Mobile County

Crews arrived Tuesday morning at SA Recycling (1 Hardwood Lane, Chickasaw) and found “flames and heavy smoke” coming from a commercial conveyor belt, according to an MFRD spokesperson.

The fire was under control as of 10:21 a.m., and crews are now performing overhaul operations.

“Initial review of the scene indicates that recycled trash and the conveyor were on fire,” the spokesperson said.
