Close friend of murdered Wilmer family ‘heartbroken’ for brother planning funeral: ‘We all have questions’

WILMER, Ala. (WKRG) — A close family friend is searching for answers as no arrests have been made after a woman, her pregnant teenage daughter, and young son were found murdered inside their Wilmer home on Auble Moody Road just west of Lott Road early Sunday morning.

For years, Mackenzie Thomas has known Damien Luker, the son of 46-year-old Lisa Fields and brother to 17-year-old Keziah Luker and 12-year-old Thomas TJ Cordelle Jr., who all were found dead with their hands zip-tied around their backs in separate rooms at their home in Wilmer.

“Damien is a lifelong friend of my husband and our family,” said Mackenzie Thomas.

Thomas said that on Sunday, her husband and Damien were hanging out like usual, unaware that he would soon lose his family to a violent tragedy…
