RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Five inmates were hospitalized after an incident at a Mississippi prison, according to officials.
According to a spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), the incident occurred at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (CMCF) in Rankin County on April 20, 2026, and involved multiple inmates.

Officials said five inmates were transported to a local hospital for treatment. They said three of the five inmates have since been discharged.
