MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Prosecutors and defense lawyers Monday picked a jury for a cold case rape trial on an alleged attack dating back nearly three decades.
Court records show that Andre William Landrum has been convicted of multiple offenses, including a first-degree sexual abuse conviction in 2007.
DNA evidence figures to play a prominent role in this week’s trial. Prosecutors allege the Mobile man, who now is 57 years old, broke into a teenager’s home in June 1997 and raped her at knifepoint. They allege that it happened at the Orange Grove public housing complex downtown, in a house that no longer exists…
