MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has been sentenced as a repeat offender on firearm and drug charges, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Alabama, 51-year-old Jacques Devone Sullivan was sentenced May 1 to 53 months in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and 43 months for violating his probation in a case involving possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking felony. Both sentences are to be served consecutively.

Court documents revealed that Sullivan has multiple prior felony convictions for possession of controlled substances, first-degree possession of marijuana, driving under the the influence, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

After his convictions, police received a tip that he was distributing fentanyl, so they searched Sullivan’s home and found a firearm that was manufactured outside of Alabama. Sullivan admitted the gun was his and that he knew as a convicted felon he could not own a firearm.
