‘I’m trying:’ Man convicted in Theodore teen’s death speaks out after missed restitution payments

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – For the first time, FOX10 News is sitting down with Yaderik Madera-Morales, the man found guilty in the death of 18-year-old Devinee Rooney after crashing into the car she was driving head-on in 2020.

Morales was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide in 2022 and ended up serving two years in Metro jail, getting credit for time served before his release in 2023.

He says he was arrested again on April 23 at his barber shop. He says he had no idea why he was being taken back to Metro. He bonded out roughly two hours after his arrest on a $500 cash bond…
